Today John O. Hearin and his family joined with Mayor Holden and DDD Executive Director Davis Rhorer to break ground on the new mixed-use residential development, Lofts @ 6C. John O. Hearin, a local developer owning several downtown properties and parking lots, introduced the 142-unit apartment complex vision to the downtown community early in 2016.
The project, located on Sixth Street between Florida and Convention Street, and adjacent to Convention St. Park, will be a six-story building with one and two bedroom units. The first two floors of the development will be garage space totaling 270 spaces for residents and guests. The remaining upper floors will be comprised of the residential units. Amenities will also include a clubhouse, swimming pool, landscaped courtyards, and approximately 3,000 square feet of commercial space.
Construction of the multi-use development began in the fall of 2016 and was approved for financing from the U.S Housing and Urban Development Department. Click the links below for images of the Lofts as well as other Downtown developments in the 2016 Yearbook.
