Sunday in the Park season opener!
On October 4, the fourth fall season of Sunday in the Park plans to party Louisiana style with Fete Louisiana featuring Feufollet and Cedric Watson. Both celebrate their Creole roots and spice it up with Cajun, Zydeco originals. Fiddles, accordians, and flavorful voices make the Louisiana sounds as sultry as ever to kick off the fall season.


Live After Five this Friday
The Fall 2009 Live After Five season will continue this Friday with Terrance Simien & The Zydeco Experience at 5PM. Come join us for an evening of music, dance, and friends in Galvez Plaza (3rd Street & North Blvd).

Walking with Dinosaurs
After years of planning, the award-winning BBC TV series, Walking with Dinosaurs comes to life in a stunning theatrical event. Internationally renowned designers have worked with scientists to create 15 life-size dinosaurs, including the terror of the ancient terrain, Tyrannosaurus-rex! Be amazed and thrilled as the greatest creatures ever to walk the earth return before your eyes.


Alternate Location for Arts Market The October 3rd Arts Market will take place at an alternate location in 5th street lot between Laurel and Main. Over 60 artists from four states will be on hand from 8 a.m. - 12 noon. We welcome 13 new artists to the Arts Market! The Arts Market regularly features free children's art activities from 9:00 am until 12:00 noon at the Arts Market's Kids Booth. The Baton Rouge Arts Market is held in conjunction with the weekly Red Stick Farmers Market and the Main Street Market.

Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers Presents: Pants on Fire @ Manship Theatre
Pants On Fire tells the story of Brad Spoofer, a pathological liar on a quest for glory. Brad quit the Feed Barn Etc., back in Nebraska and moved to LA to become a movie star. Please join Southeastern Louisiana's hottest and most sought after band U4ria for Friday's Live at the Lyceum! Show starts at 8PM. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Susan G. Tea Party and Blues Jam @ Dalton's
Dalton's will host a "Firefly Vodka Tea Party" Wednesday 5:30 - 8PM. Join Dalton's for wine & spirits! Sample wine and Firefly Vodka's six flavors, compliments of Dalton's. Hors d'oeuvres will be served. This is a FREE EVENT! WARNING: This aint your grandma's sweet tea! Wine tastings will also be available free of charge!

Beginning this Wednesday, Dalton's begins a weekly Blues Jam. Some of Baton Rouge's finest blues artist will be stopping by to join in and jam! 8:00PM - 12:00AM.


Downtown Wine Walk!
Registration will be in the Manship / Shaw Center breezeway between Stroube's and The Roux House patio at 5:30PM. Cost for the event is $10 and allows for two free two ounce wine tastings per participating venue. Featured wines will be $4 per glass at each establishment. Main Street Market
Chef Celeste Gill and the Fresh from the Market cooking show welcomes Chef David Reyes of Ramsay's Mansion Restaurant at Nottoway Plantation. The cooking demo begins at 10 am in the North Street seating area of Main Street Market. First Saturday events also include knife sharpening by Doyle Hanson and gardening tips from the East Baton Rouge Master Gardeners. Local chocolatier Steve Lawrence is back inside Main Street Market with his delicious artisan chocolates. The Arts Market also returns this first Saturday alongside the Red Stick Farmers Market.

Tune in to the hot new show Hollywood Presents Downtown, a 30-minute program, which is shot in Hollywood's Studio 7 on the banks of the Mississippi River, where you'll find out the latest from Downtown Baton Rouge. With special guest interviews and details on blockbuster events happening on the riverfront, you'll be ready for all the action.

The show airs each Wednesday at 8:30PM and Saturday at 10:00PM on Cox Channel 4.
