Parking Changes in Spanish Town
Spanish Town Parking Permit signs are going up in Spanish Town. A new City ordinance requires Spanish Town residents to obtain a $5 parking pass from DPW Traffic Engineering for on street parking. The passes are meant to resolve parking issues in Spanish Town, particularly during the Legislative session. The program will help ensure residents can find a parking spot close to their homes. Permits will be required Monday-Friday 6AM - 6PM. Permits can be obtained starting Monday, January 4 from DPW's Traffic Engineering Office, 329 Chippewa Street. Spanish Town residents will need their vehicle registration or a copy of a vehicle lease. They also will need two additional proofs of residency: a driver's license, utility bill and a property tax bill or a rental/lease agreement, the ordinance says. Cash, check or money order are all accepted. The permits are tags that hang from rearview mirrors, or can be displayed prominently in vehicles parked in the neighborhood. Please call (225) 389-3246 for more information.

2010: Common Ground New Year's Eve Party @ The Lyceum
Things have changed but the good times remain. Before wine bars and martini lounges, there was "2010." The teen club "2010" located outside the Bon Marche Mall provided the soundtrack, dance venue,
and parking lot cruising for the late 1980's high school experience in Baton Rouge. Back then the year 2010 seemed so far away...Now we've almost arrived. We've taken many different paths, but the music and memories of the late 80s and early 90s bring us back to our Common Ground.

On December 31, 2009 from 9PM - 2AM, let's revisit our defining decade and an updated version of the "2010" dance club on New Year's Eve!
