FREEDOM HERITAGE TRAIL
BIKE/PEDESTRIAN CONNECTOR COMING SOON |
Last week, BREC hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for an exciting bicycle and pedestrian project that will bridge the gap between Downtown and North Baton Rouge! The 6-mile trail will span from BREC's Memorial Stadium north to Scotlandville Park/Airline Highway and was named the Freedom Heritage Trail - due to the historical significance of the 3-mile march of Southern University students during the Civil Rights Movement. The DDD is working with BREC and the City-Parish on projects to connect this trail to the Downtown Greenway. Click below to learn more about the project.
