Live After Five this Friday!
The fall season of Live After Five kicks off this Friday September 17, 5PM - 8PM with Four Unplugged (Rock & Soul.) The Golden Girls and Band will be in attendance as part of the LSU Sesquicentennial Celebration at the Old State Capitol. Come out to Galvez Plaza at North Boulevard Town Square for the State's premiere free outdoor concert series. Start spending your Friday evenings Downtown!

LSU Sesquicentennial Celebration
There will be a press conference and celebration on Friday, September 17 for the opening of the LSU Sesquicentennial Exhibit titled LSU: Building an American Renaissance, a special exhibit highlighting the architectural history of the university's original 18 buildings. The celebration will include a performance by the Golden Girls and the spirit squad. Below is the itinerary.

3:30 pm Golden Girls perform at the OSC
4:00 pm Comment and Sponsor recognition
4:15 pm Signing of proclamation or ribbon cutting, comments, and sponsor recognition at OSC
4:30pm Jazz Ensemble and escorts to Live after 5
5:00 pm LSU Spirit Squads perform at Live after 5 stage at Galvez Plaza
5:30 pm Comments from Chancellor Martin and Secretary Dardenne inviting Baton Rouge Exhibit and LSU Sesquicentennial at Galvez Plaza

The B-52's at the Manship
Dance at the theatre with the World's Greatest Party Band to hits like Love Shack, Pump, Roam and of course Rock Lobster! Tickets are $150 with 'Love Shack' Reception and $100 without.

LSU Night at the MOA
Come celebrate LSU's sesquicentennial with a viewing of the new LSU Past and Present exhibition with sculptors in clay, glass, and metal: Steve Rucker, Paulo Dufour, Stephen Paul Day, and Mary Jane Parker at the LSU Museum of Art- 5th Floor of the Shaw Center for the Arts.

Downtown Beach Sweep
Join us and Keep Baton Rouge Beautiful as we clean up our Downtown and promote healthy waterways by preventing litter from washing into our beautiful Mississippi River and surrounding bayous, streams and lakes. Supplies will be available at time of registration, along with a map of the following downtown cleanup sites: Beauregard Town, Spanish Town, Riverfront, Interstate, and Central Business District.
