Cirque du Soleil- Allegria
A baroque ode to the energy, grace and power of youth. Alegria is a mood, a state of mind. The themes of the show, whose name means Jubilation in Spanish, are many. Power and the handing down of power over time, the evolution from ancient monarchies to modern democracies, old age, youth - it is against this backdrop that the characters of Alegria play out thier lives.

Earth, Moon & Sun Family Show
This highly entertaining, educational show explores the relationship between the Earth, Moon, and Sun with the help of Coyote. An amusing character adapted from Native American oral traditions, Coyote has many misconceptions about our home planet and its most familiar neighbors. Throughout the show, Native American stories help distinguish between myths and science. Learn why the Sun rises and sets, how the Earth orbits the Sun once a year, and how long it takes the Moon to orbit the Earth. View Trailer

Second Saturday- Name that Artwork
Based on the old favorite "Name that Tune" visitors see who can recognize an artwork with the fewest number of clues. Be careful not to overestimate your powers of deduction - the consequences could lead to serious laughter. Bring a "Take-and-Make" bag home to create your own artwork inspired by your museum visit. Supplies are limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Children must be accompanied by an adult who is prepared to provide assistance. Groups of 10 or more who would like to participate in the Second Saturday program are encouraged to email the education curator, Lara Gautreau, at lgaut@lsu.edu.
