Downtown Mardi Gras
Baton Rouge's Mardi Gras Parade season will continue this weekend with the Krewe of Artemis on Friday night, and both Krewe Mystique de la Capitale and Krewe of Orion on Saturday.

Perspectives opening
The Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge, The Manship Gallery, and Ann Connelly Fine Art present Perspectives. Perspectives is an exhibition of artwork from artists, Emerson Bell, Eric Brown, Randell Henry, Demond Matsuo, Larry Nevil and Christopher Turner. The exhibition will be on display at the Manship Gallery from February 1, 2011 until March 31, 2011.

The public is invited to an Opening Reception for the participating artists on Thursday, February 24, 2011 from 5:30 until 7:00 p.m. in the Manship Gallery (second floor of Shaw Center.) For more information on the exhibit contact the Manship Gallery at (225) 344-0334.


Cane River Creole
Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne, the board of directors of the Louisiana State Museum, and Louisiana State Museum Friends cordially invite you to the opening of The World of Cane River Creole- Rural Life in Natchitoches Parish. The event will take place at the Louisiana State Museum on February 24 at 6PM.

Vocal trio Selah in concert

This week at the Market
Come to the Markets this Saturday from 8AM-12PM for great breakfast, fresh produce and fun with friends! Chef Jaime Hernandez will join host chef Celeste Gill for Saturday's Fresh from the Market cooking show. Be sure to stop in the North Street seating area of Main Street Market at 10AM for the demonstration. Kids can enjoy fun Mardi Gras themed art activities in the Kids Korner from 9-11 AM at the Main Street end of the Market. Musical entertainment will be provided by the Bluegrass Jam beginning at 11 AM. All musicians are encouraged to bring their instrument and join in the fun.

Music at Mid-Day
Free lunchtime concerts beginning at noon each Wednesday will feature local musicians, student ensembles, professional musicians and a wide variety of music from Classical to Standards, Blues, Jazz and Americana. Downtown patrons interested in attending can bring their own lunch or order takeout from any downtown area restaurant.
