Downtown Mardi Gras
Baton Rouge's Mardi Gras Parade season will close this Saturday with the Spanish Town Parade at 12 Noon and Krewe of Poseidon at 4PM. On Saturday only, the Downtown parking garages will offer special hours.

Mardi Gras at Boudreaux and Thibodeaux's
For the Saturday parades, Boudreaux and Thibodeaux's will hold their Spanish Town Mardi Gras Annual Bash with live music all day long! Dance band Luv Sexy will be playing the nightclub from 3PM to 7PM and The Chase Tyler Band from 9PM - 1AM. Both bars open early! NO COVER!

Art Collecting: A Discussion with Michael Robinson and Donald Boutté

Masterworks Series Entergy Masterworks VII - Season Finale
The season finalé opens with Mozart's Stormy Overture to Don Giovanni and is followed by Johannes Brahms' Nänie, a moving contemplation of the fleeting nature of life and beauty inspired by the poetry of Friedrich Schiller. The concert is crowned by a performance of one of the most cherished compositions in all of musical history - Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, also inspired by the writings of Schiller. Viva Carnaval from the Community School for the Arts!
The Arts Council's Holiday Arts Blasts are a perfect way to introduce children to a variety of arts and lead them to a lifetime of art appreciation. Sign up soon as sessions fill quickly! Drop off for all sessions will begin at 8:00 am and options include a 3:30 pick up or an extended day stay until 5:30. This week at the Market
Arrive early for the parade this Saturday and enjoy a hot breakfast from Main Street Market vendors! Main Street Market will be open with special hours from 8AM to 12PM. The Red Stick Farmers Market will be closed due to the Spanish Town Mardi Gras parade. Main Street Market will also be closed Monday and Tuesday, March 7th and 8th in observance of the Mardi Gras holiday.

Music at Mid-Day
Free lunchtime concerts beginning at noon each Wednesday will feature local musicians, student ensembles, professional musicians and a wide variety of music from Classical to Standards, Blues, Jazz and Americana. Downtown patrons interested in attending can bring their own lunch or order takeout from any downtown area restaurant.

The concerts take place on the Fourth Floor Terrace of the Shaw Center for the Arts. Call 225-389-7170 for more info.
