Sunday in the Park is Back!
The Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge is ushering in the Spring with their highly anticipated concert series, Sunday in the Park, a series of FREE outdoor concerts held in the Town Lawn of North Boulevard Town Square. Six concerts are held from 12PM - 3PM on Sunday afternoons in April and May, but excluding Easter Sunday. Special Earth Day and FestForAll performances are from 12PM - 2PM at the Galvez Plaza Stage. Come and enjoy amazing live music, wonderful food, face painting and balloon creations. This Sunday's concert features Mountain Heart, playing contemporary folk with exceptional energetic acoustics!

Rock The Roof at the YMCA
Rock the Roof is a 3 on 3 basketball tournament being held on the 7th floor roof of the Third Street Lasalle parking garage. Literally take your game to new heights as players will experience a great view of the downtown and the river. There will be 3 divisions; middle school, high school and adult. Entrance cost is normally $50 per team, but the Downtown Development District is teaming up with the YMCA to offer a discount coupon. Download the coupon and your registration is only $10! The tournament will be double elimination. Cash prizes will be given to the adult winning team. Registration begins at 8AM. Sign up now!

Providence Corporate Cup Run
The Providence Corporate Cup Run/Walk includes thousands of athletes participating each year as individuals or teams on a 5k (3.1 mile) race course. Hundreds of companies throughout our community participate, and many companies have on-site tent locations for their employees, business associates, and friends. FREE food, drink, musical entertainment, and other amenities are provided to all participants at the post-race party.

Nano Day at LASM
Visit LASM on NanoDay and be part of a nationwide festival celebrating the science of ultra-small matter! Scientists, engineers, educators, and students will be on hand to demonstrate and discuss nanoscience and its amazing applications. The day's activities will demonstrate the surprising properties of nanoscale matter. Enjoy the breathtaking fulldome planetarium show NANOCAM: A Trip into Biodiversity, which examines living things through an electron microscope. Hands-on activities include an exploration of the properties of liquid gold and the surface of a butterfly's wing. You can even help build a giant nanotube out of balloons! Free with general admission.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
Join the actors of the Dunham School as they bring Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's enduringly popular musical favorite "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" to the Manship Theatre stage. Beginning its life in 1967 as a 20-minute "pop cantata" for a school Easter concert, "Joseph" was revived and expanded in the mid-'70s and eventually made its way to Broadway in 1982. This lively interpretation of the biblical story of Joseph of Canaan is sure to charm you with its excitement, energy, and eclectic musical variety.

Viking Cooking School
The Hilton's pool deck overlooking the Mississippi River is the perfect location for the new Viking outdoor grilling experience. In an outdoor pavilion, through engaging demonstrations and intimate hands-on classes ranging from 16-36 people, the Viking Cooking School Outdoors provides a first class atmosphere for those who love to cook, entertain, or just appreciate the pleasure of great food. Music at the Market
Red Stick Farmers Market is your one stop shop for fresh produce, artisan food items and unique gifts. Spring's arrival brings English peas, fava beans, artichokes, asparagus and carrots to the Market along with fresh LA strawberries. Saturday's Fresh from the Market cooking demonstration will feature a trio of chefs from "The Cabin" cookbook cooking dishes with fresh products from the Market. Join Chef Gerard Hemery of Bernadette's Restaurant, Chef Lynn Anselmo of The Cabin Restaurant, and cookbook contributor Thomas Robert at 10AM inside the North entrance to Main Street Market to watch them in action and sample the food. The Red Stick Farmers Market takes place every Saturday from 8AM-12PM on the corner of Fifth and Main Streets.



Lunchtime Lagniappe
Lunchtime Lagniappe, a weekly series of lively presentations on local history will run at the Capitol Park Museum on Wednesdays through March 28. Designed for downtown workers on a break, the free hour long programs are held at noon each Wednesday. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch and may come and go as their schedules require. The Capitol Park Museum friends make refreshments available for a small donation.

Yoga in the Square
Karmady Yoga, a new downtown business, would like to introduce themselves to the downtown community by offering free yoga classes in the new North Boulevard Town Square! Whether you are interested in flexibility, strength, stress reduction or balance, this class will help you learn in a non-threatening way. You will experience a gentle, slow approach to postures, allowing you to experience each pose. The session will close with an emphasis placed on relaxation and allowing a restoration of the body and mind. The classes are held on Tuesdays before the Happy's Running Club gets going, so come drop in any time from 4:45PM - 6PM and join in. Props are provided if you don't have your own.
