Final Live After Five Concert of the Season
Come out to Galvez Plaza at North Boulevard Town Square for Louisiana's premiere FREE outdoor concert series. This week Press 1 for English will have everyone out on the dance floor for this final Live After Five of the season. Start spending your Friday evenings Downtown!

The FREE Belle of Baton Rouge Concert Series continues this week with Louisiana native, Wayne Toups. Free Concert Fridays at the Belle has some of Louisiana's hottest Hall of Fame acts in the Atrium. The show begins immediately following the Live After Five Concerts.

Baton Rouge Halloween Parade
The 2nd Annual Baton Rouge Halloween Parade which celebrates community, courage and creativity will run on Saturday, October 27, 2012. The 2012 parade theme is "Boo on the Bayou: A Red Stick Apocalypse!" and the Grand Marshal is the one-and-only Edwin Edwards! This is the only parade in which spectators will be able to give back to the parade. The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank will have one of their trucks as the first unit in the parade. They will have a team of volunteers walking around the truck to collect non-perishable food donations from the crowd.

YMCA Skeleton Skurry
The Skeleton Skurry is a great opportunity for families to enjoy fitness together and support their community at the same time! The start of the race will be at the airplane located on River Road and Government Street at 1:45PM. The finish line will be at the intersection of 7th Street and Main Street. All who register by the deadline of October 25th will receive a free T-shirt . Please wear it to the race!

"Movies on the Mississippi" Louisiana Horror!
The Louisiana International Film Festival presents "Movies on the Mississippi" as part of its Film Series Program for 2012. With the beautiful backdrop of the Mississippi River after sunset, the outdoor screening is located in front of the USS Kidd. This screening is open to the public free of charge with general admission seating beginning at 7PM. Bring a blanket and dress for Halloween if you would like! LIFF will showcase Louisiana Horror! for a unique movie-going experience.

Castle Creepfest
The Castle Creepfest will have face painting, trick or treating, magic shows, a story teller, a mad scientist, demon dungeon tours, games and 'The Ghost of the Castle" show! There will be plenty of food from the Jambalaya Shoppe and the Happy Hot Dog Cart.

Louisiana Book Festival
Booklovers of all ages can interact with writers, poets, storytellers and enjoy an inspiring variety of book related activities. Halloween at the Market
Bring the kids to the Market this Saturday to enjoy a fun Halloween art activity and other "treats." Pick a unique pumpkin from local farmers to carve for Halloween along with fall squash to decorate your front porch. The Fresh from the Market cooking demo will also feature a Halloween theme with Chef Eric Arceneaux of The City Club preparing healthy Halloween treats. Watch the cooking demo at 10AM inside the North Street entrance to Main Street Market and then stick around to sample his dish.

Ongoing group fitness activities continue this fall including: Yoga Classes on the Town Lawn by Karmady Yoga, Happy's Running Club on Tuesday afternoons and Zumba classes on Mondays and Wednesdays. These events complement the launch of the Mayor's HealthyBR website that promotes fitness, and encourages community members to make healthy choices and join the movement to make Baton Rouge a healthier community.
