Laurel Street Palooza
The Laurel Street Palooza is the best street party in town, celebrating the arts in Baton Rouge with lively bands and entertainment, a first-class silent auction, and great food and spirits. This event benefits the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge. Tickets are $40 in advance $45 at the door.

Trains, Planes, and Automobiles at LSUMOA
The LSU Museum of Art sets you on the fast track to nostalgia with our holiday exhibition, Trains, Planes and Automobiles. This remarkable display of vintage and antique toys and fine art has all the bells and whistles, including a 1930s Lionel train set and a miniature model of a double-decker bus. Put the pedal to the metal and speed on over for a fanciful display of toys and art. Trains, Planes and Automobiles will run through January 20th.

Jason Moran at the Manship
Jason Moran is a jazz pianist, bandleader, and composer. He and his trio perform using elements of stride piano, avant-garde jazz, classical music, hip-hop, and spoken word. Since Jason Moran's debut as a band leader in 1999, he has garnered much critical acclaim and won numerous awards for his playing and compositional skills. He is currently musical adviser for jazz at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., and serves on the faculty at the New England Conservatory of Music.

Symphony 101 at the River Center
Have you ever wondered what happens behind the music? In the course of this evening of exploring symphonic music, participants engage Music Director Timothy Muffitt and BRSO Executive Director Alan Hopper in a vibrant session concerning the production of events, the composers, and the music. The discussion is followed by a Masterworks rehearsal, during which Symphony 101 participants are immersed in the music while sitting on stage next to the orchestra musicians. The Symphony 101 experience will deepen your appreciation for your symphony orchestra.
