Labor Day Weekend R&B Explosion
The River Center invites you to be a part of the 1st Annual Labor Day Weekend R&B Explosion. The event will feature artists such as Fantasia Barrino, Chrisette Michele, and Musiq Soulchild. Celebrate your Labor Day weekend downtown with the summer's biggest R&B showcase.

Wilson Phillips at the Manship
Wilson Phillips will make a stop in downtown Baton Rouge while touring for their new album Dedicated. Don't miss the chance to catch this great band in the intimate setting of the Manship Theatre.

Red Stick Farmers Market
Music and local foods will be showcased at the Saturday market in downtown for a festive Labor Day weekend. Local musicians will perform outside at Red Stick Farmers Market throughout the morning starting at 8:30AM. Following the performances, the Fresh from the Market cooking demonstration will feature local food artisan Richard Hanley who will join Chef Celeste and create a 'sensational' summer salad using farm fresh ingredients including spinach, red onions, cucumbers, and goat cheese tossed with his Hanley's Sensation salad dressing.

CANstruction Awards Reception
LASM will present the fascinating structures created for the Baton Rouge CANstruction competition. Participants from area design, building, and business communities build structures out of cans and non-perishable food items. An awards reception will be held on held on Thursday and food items will be donated to the Baton Rouge Food Bank once the exhibits concludes on September 15. Mel Waiters at the Belle
