2013 Festival of Lights
Join us under downtown's historic oaks to commemorate Baton Rouge's oldest holiday tradition. Transforming the winter sky into a wonderland, North Boulevard will be lit with half a million sparkling lights. Experience the magic beneath the 35-foot Christmas tree in North Boulevard Town Square. Enjoy free ice skating and for the first time sled down six tons of real snow at the Repentance Park Snow Village. New this year will be LIVE Street Theatre! Interact and listen to actors as they help Santa bring up the Christmas Spirit in Town Square. The Street Theatre will accompany all of your favorites such as balloon artist, magicians, stilt walkers, and more.

Reindeer Run & Jingle Bell Jog
The 2013 Reindeer Run 5k and Jingle Bell Jog 1 mile fun run will take place at 7pm Friday, December 6th in Downtown Baton Rouge. Registration will be held at City Plaza at the corner of 4th St. and North Blvd. All entrants will receive a long sleeve race T-shirt. Prizes will be given for overall and age group winners in both male and female divisions.

Blue Period Exhibition Reception
This exhibit is inspired by Picasso and will feature over 20 artists at the Kress Gallery. Check out the hottest art gallery downtown and listen to music by Henry Turner Jr. and Flavor!

St. Joseph's Academy Fall Concert
The St. Joseph's Academy dance department along with students from Catholic High School will present their annual Fall Dance Concert under SJA faculty Kris Cangelosi. The students will perform works by Cangelosi in Classical ballet, Contemporary and Jazz Dance in the Manship Theatre.

Art After Hours
Explore the current Fritz Bultman exhibition with a tour led by LASM curator Elizabeth Weinstein. Bultman's life and legacy, famous colleagues and artistic influences, and the development and popularization of Abstract Expressionism will be discussed. There will also be time for you to chat about the work on view with your friends or fellow participants while enjoying complimentary refreshments. Admission is free for members, $5 for students with ID, and $7 for nonmembers.

Crafts Change Lives
The Cambodia craft sale offers purses, pashminas, table cloths, table runners, billfolds, scarves, and much more at the First united Methodist Church. All items are made by the women of Cambodia, and all proceeds are returned to Cambodia.

Holiday Shopping at the Markets
Begin your weekend at Main Street Market with a hot breakfast and music by the East Baton Rouge Parish Schools Talented Music Program. At 10AM, Chef Peter Sclafani will prepare Louisiana recipes during the Fresh from the Market cooking demonstration inside the North Street entrance to the Market. Stop in to watch the demo and sample the chef's creation. Outside at the Red Stick Farmers Market, you'll find plenty of farm fresh items and holiday gifts. This Saturday also features face painting for kids and the Arts Market returns.
