Art Melt 2014
Art Melt is FREE and open to the public. The exhibit will open July 19, 2014 at the Capitol Park Museum in downtown Baton Rouge from 5-9PM, and outdoor festivities including the Arts Marketplace will continue until 10PM. All artwork accepted to the competition will hang in the museum gallery and remain on display to the public for six weeks following the event.

Keith Sykes & Richard Leigh at Manship Theatre
Songwriting legends Keith Sykes and Richard Leigh will swap songs and stories for the evening. Sykes is the best known as a member of Jimmy Buffett's band and has written songs with Buffett (Volcano!), Jerry Jeff Walker, John Prine, Guy Clark and Rosanne Cash. Leigh is best known for writing the mega-hit "Don't it Make Your Brown Eyes Blue" for Crystal Gayle.

Market Melon Mania at Main Street Market
Start your weekend off with a trip to the Main Street Market this Saturday for good food, music and friends! Farmers will showcase watermelons, cantaloupes and sun melon this Saturday as the Markets celebrate Melon Mania. Latin guitarist Victor Andrada will entertain shoppers with his Latin inspired music throughout the morning outside at the Red Stick Farmers Market. Kids can also enjoy complimentary face painting.

A Night at the Opera at Manship Theatre
Marx Brothers Matinees! Groucho, Chico, and Harpo. The super famous comedy team went from Vaudeville to Broadway to the Hollywood, making the world laugh all along the way. A NIGHT AT THE OPERA marked the beginning of a new era for the group. It is their first film with MGM and featured more in-depth plot lines, musical numbers, and characters.
